November 2009 - Ask Kim Column

Dear Kim:
I was wondering if my husband's business will be a success? He just opened up in November 2008 with partners. His former boss is trying to get him to go back to work for him. Will we be moving? We live quite a distance from where he works.
Sue K., 46, St.Catharines,
Ontario, Canada

Dear Sue:
Your husband was more than ready to leave his job to strike out on his own, so if he were to return to work for his old boss, he would be miserable. Clearly, being entrepreneurial is going to make your hubby’s heart and soul sing. However, there is a major hurdle he has to overcome to make his new business a success. Your husband must make the effort to get out of his comfort zone to build marketing skills, which involves promoting the business through consistent networking. Spiritually speaking, marketing is his responsibility (along with all of his other duties) because it will allow him to grow and evolve. That’s why the universe has provided this terrific opportunity. There will be a move coming up for you in spring, 2010, to an area closer to your husband’s new office, that will also be less expensive than where you are currently living. If your husband is willing to handle the marketing of the new business (rather than leaving that to a partner) you should start looking for your new home and prepare to move by cleaning out the clutter from drawers, cabinets, and closets. 2010 is going to be a far more successful year for you financially!

Dear Kim:
I have two sons and my wife wants a girl, but we are tight with money, room space, and I believe we have much on our shoulders with our present situation. I would like to have a girl, but it’s not 100% sure that if we try we’re gonna get her. I’m afraid that we can have another boy, or twins! I don’t plan to raise a hockey team you know. I’m afraid also that we are gonna have more fights (me and her) with another child because it needs a lot of energy to raise a child, am I wrong? I plan to get a vasectomy but she doesn’t agree. I don’t know what to do.
Patrick C., 36,
Montreal, Canada

Dear Patrick:
Don’t worry: a "hockey team" is not part of your destiny! There sure is a lot of testosterone in your household, and testosterone is a beautiful thing; but, at the same time, your wife intuitively feels that one more child is in your future and that child is very likely to be a girl. The reason your wife is longing for this baby is because she knows in her heart that your family is not yet complete. Your logical arguments are very reasonable; children are expensive and do require enormous time, energy, and patience. But, you are allowing your brain to run amok with worry, which I refer to as "anal" moments. Having a third child will not plunge you into financial ruin. You’ve trusted your wife’s instincts in the past, correct? After all, she chose you as a husband, didn’t she? Patrick, for you and your darling wife, there will be no better return for the ongoing investment of your time, energy, and financial resources than raising your three children. Of course, it is your decision, but your angels suggest that you trust your wife's instincts once again, and have the third child right away. Then get the vasectomy.

Dear Kim:
In 2007, I started the process of adoption of a child from Kazakhstan. After about a year, my paperwork was returned. I picked up the pieces and started with another agency and I am in the beginning stages. My dossier was just translated and soon to go to the DC Embassy which is the first step. I have a good feeling about this agency. Am I right to believe that I will find a child in Kazakhstan? Boy or Girl? I started this journey by myself but over a year ago I met someone who continues to surprise the heck out of me! I am a heterosexual female but somehow have fallen in love with a woman! This is the best relationship that I have ever had! Is she the one I am supposed to be with? Does the universe see her as my soul mate or is that possible? Are we meant to be a family together? I know the world isn't always accepting, but I am so happy. What do my guides say about this relationship? If you feel that my relationship is too controversial for your column I understand. Just please give me some assurance that I am doing the right thing with moving forward with the adoption. I am running out of time and money!
Lisa S., 47,
Bellville, Texas

Dear Lisa:
Thank you for your concern, but nothing is too controversial for this column! And, screw what anybody else thinks about your choices. A relationship between two consenting adults is the business of those involved…and no one else! You are going to remain very happy in your current relationship. Your beloved is a mature, enlightened, and sensitive woman who is a light on the earthly plane. You two have shared many joyous and productive past lives. What's more, you were very specifically directed by your angels to adopt from Kazakhstan and that’s why you feel so resolute and determined. Your angels tell me that a boy and a girl are coming. They have chosen you as an adoptive mother, so keep persevering. All of your dreams are coming true!

Dear Kim:
My husband and I are waiting for an adoption match with a birthmother from San Antonio, TX. The other night I was watching late night T.V. and I dozed into that half asleep/half awake zone and I clearly heard a very small child's voice say, "Mamma!" I popped out of my slumber and tried hard to listen again. Was this my spirit baby speaking to me? This experience has convinced me to buy your new book, Bond With Your Baby Before Birth. Thank you for being such a sweet soul.
Fran T., 44,
Cantonment. FL

Dear Fran:
You're going to be hearing a lot of little voices! You have an opportunity to adopt three: first, a singleton, and then...twins! These babies will make your life complete. And, yes, they fully realize that you are in your mid-forties. The children who have chosen you as an adoptive parent wanted a mother who is mature, wise, and evolved. Plus, you have nurtured them in a series of past lifetimes; so, you are already well acquainted spiritually and they will seem very familiar the first time you hold them in your arms. You'll need names for a boy and two girls.
