August 2004 - Ask Kim Column

Dear Kim:
My 15 year old son, David, has had chronic headaches for four years. The headaches are constant and as intense as migraines. David has been to traditional doctors, as well as healers and psychics; yet, the combined efforts have not yielded the response we have hoped for---we do not know the cause of, or cure for, David's headaches. Please share the insight you have for assisting David and our family.
Jessica B., 47
Houston, Texas

Dear Jessica:
Migraines are truly debilitating and hurt like the dickens, so your letter really inspired me to get to the root of this problem. And after you've been to so many folks who have not been able to diagnose the health condition, you begin to wonder if you're crazy and if you'll ever be able to get any definitive help!

As his mother, you already know that David's headaches are very real---they are not imagined. Okay...here's the scoop. David is meant to be a holistic healer. He is supposed to begin this life's work while still a teenager. The headaches have been occurring to get his attention in regard to two outstanding issues that are derailing his forward movement. Those issues involve developing patience, and learning to 'bloom where he is.'

He will not be able to heal himself until he has worked through those two pesky issues. Once he is working as a professional holistic healer, he will talk about his old migraines, and his patients will be able to relate to him because he knows what it is to suffer. In the future, I "see" him pain free, loving his work as a healer, and in a happy marriage with children of his own.

Dear Kim:
I have searched my entire life for my true vocation. My path has taken me from a degree in geophysics to being an international security expert to owning a marketing and communications company. I have been successful in all, but the doors have shut over a year ago. I'm down to my last month's rent and in a crisis over what to do next. Help!!!!!!
Karen S., 44
Houston, Texas

Dear Karen:
The doors have closed because the universe was trying to tell you something. Those prior occupations were all necessary because they were, each in a different way, preparing you for your life's work. Through those endeavors, you've discovered that you have a gift with writing; as well as teaching, facilitating, mentoring, and coaching others. And you have the leadership abilities firmly in place that will help you muster the courage to start yet another business; but this time, one that will make your heart and soul sing.

First, you are meant to write a nonfiction book about pulling oneself up by the bootstraps and creating a life that's meaningful. Then, you will develop fun, inspiring, pragmatic workshops, based on what you have written to encourage others to follow their dreams rather than live a life of mediocrity. You will earn your living by writing and speaking, which will make you very happy! Now---that's all well and good---but what are you going to do in the meantime?

You've got to eat and pay rent, so while you're writing the first book, your angels recommend that you pursue a temporary outside sales job by putting your resume on the Internet and looking at the classifieds of the Houston Chronicle. (My California clients who are in the entertainment industry refer to this kind of steppingstone job as a "day gig.") This is the time to proactively get things done. Don't let the anxiety you're naturally feeling derail or distract you from all that your current life holds in store. You were born to be a shining light in other people's lives, coaching and guiding them toward the path that represents their destiny: so, demonstrate intent and start that first book!

Dear Kim:
I have suspicions that my husband is not being emotionally faithful and is insincere in his reassurances. Do I have reason to worry about the stability of my marriage?
Theresa T., 41
Houston, Texas

Dear Theresa:
By using my channeling ability, I can "see" that you are a lovely, smart, classy, emotionally healthy woman who is not given to episodes of paranoia. This means that there is an intuitive reason that you are sensing trouble in paradise. Your angels are trying to tell you something.

Is there anything going on behind your back that would make you want to rip your husband's head from his shoulders? No. So do you have reason to worry about the stability of your marriage? Yes. Let me explain. Instead of discussing your husband's motives and agendas, it makes more sense to focus on you. What I hear from your angels is that, if the truth be known, you are no longer in love with your husband. For some time, you've been feeling that the relationship has become routine, lackluster, and unfulfilling. And what's more, your husband is not demonstrating his affection for you like he used to, and this is part of the reason you feel insecure, lonely, and unhappy.

The relationship has grown cold because you have both outgrown it, and it's coming to a close because it was meant to as part of your emotional and spiritual growth. You and your husband were a terrific learning experience for each other, and now that all the lessons are worked through, the universe is preparing you for the final curtain.

Before you freak out with worry, I want you to know that you're going to make it beautifully on your own. And, you might be interested to discover that you have a bona-fide Mr. Wonderful waiting in the wings with whom you'll have a heart, mind, body, and soul relationship---the kind that dreams are made of. You have to go through the scary process of letting go of the present to allow the future to begin to crystallize. That's what your wonderful angels are trying to tell you!
